Sophia Chang is a highly trained and experienced practitioner of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. With a wide range of experience working with diverse patient populations, including professional athletes, military veterans, geriatrics, chronic pain, stress management, cancer treatment support, infertility, and pediatrics, Dr.
Chang is a results-oriented practitioner who enjoys collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for her patients.
In addition to her expertise in traditional Oriental medicine, Dr. Chang has a strong background in sports medicine and western sciences, and is committed to integrating the practices of traditional and conventional medicine. Chang has extensive experience working with other healthcare providers, primarily through her involvement with the University of California, San Diego and The Integrative Health Project.
She is currently pursuing her Sports Medicine Acupuncture Certification SMAC , which is the most advanced orthopedic and sports medicine certification available and incorporates principles and techniques from both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Sports Medicine. The SMAC program comprises over hours of advanced sports medicine acupuncture training, designed to provide the highest level of advanced training in the assessment and treatment of sports, work, and orthopedic injuries.
